	South Carolina - What Next? 28 January 2008 Obama had a stunning victory over Mr. and Mrs. Clinton on Saturday. With well over 50% of the vote, including 25% of the White (Democrat) vote, he had more than double the Clinton’s vote and confounded the experts. They were predicting that he would get only 10% of the White vote. I am still maintaining that the Clintons will ultimately get the Democrat nomination but the race is certainly tightening. No doubt the Clintons and their operatives are digging into the dirt-box for a means of silencing this young Black man who is challenging the Clinton coronation. Obama’s tenacity and popularity was not foreseen by anyone, and especially not by the Media Class. The first casualty of this campaign is the public perception that the Democrat Party is the Nation’s bulwark against racism. The headlines in the MSM on Sunday included a description of the South Carolina contest as “racially charged”. Since the contest was purely an internal Democrat one, this headline reveals that the Democrat Party is dividing on racial lines. If there was one Party that could be expected to be color blind when selecting its candidate, surely it was the Democrat Party. Of course those of us who do not fall for the Media’s relentless propaganda have never thought that this was true, but the Media’s political line has always been that it is conservatives who are racist. Now all can know the truth! There is no doubt that the Clintons are losing support in many quarters. Because they have been forced to campaign so hard, their ruthless and unprincipled methods, now being employed against fellow Democrats, cannot be concealed by a doting Media. As I pointed out in a previous article, the Clintons can only defeat Obama by using the race factor, since there are no substantial policy differences dividing them. The Democrat Party, which has been driven ever Leftward in response to the rise to power of the Media Class, now has the prime characteristic of any Leftist organization, which is intolerance. By embracing the Media Class agenda, the Party’s activists have silenced and driven out any who dissent. There are many litmus tests that every member must pass - pro-abortion, homosexual advancement, anti-Christian traditions, anti-capital punishment, anti-Bush war and the list goes on. As the Lieberman episode demonstrated, there is no room for dissent. Consequently, internal Party rivalries can only be fought out on identity issues. The Clinton character appeals to modern Democrat activists. For those who believe that ends justify means, the Clintons’ willingness to fight a scorched earth war and to ‘fight dirty’, is what qualifies them for leadership. Most Leftist Democrats - who denigrate Christian marriage, the concept of male-female roles, honor before deceit etc. - admire a couple whose marriage is a sham and who enjoy lying in the most bare-faced way. When Bill Clinton rasps into the microphone that he gets emotional in his support for his wife ‘because he loves her’, the outrageous mendacity of it appeals to his supporters. The problem for the Media Class is that many ordinary non-political voters are being turned off. Some old hands in the Party leadership can see the dangers down the road and that is why people like Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry, neither of whom has ever cared about truth or honor, are abandoning the Clintons. They can see that the current campaign that is alienating Blacks and swing voters, may enable the Clintons to win the battle and lose the war. They may regret being so foolhardy however if the Clintons reach the White House. With eight years in which to settle scores, the Clintons may yet include Kennedy and Kerry in the ‘vast rightwing conspiracy’. Dick Morris was a longtime Clinton operative and worked closely with them for many years. He was an insider who helped plan the Clinton dirty tricks tactics from the early days and saw the couple as they really are. For some reason he deserted them and is now a poacher turned gamekeeper. He appears regularly on Fox News (Hannity and Colmes) as a political commentator and he is devastating in his comments on the Clintons and their methods. How they must hate him! Despite the frantic efforts of Clinton suck-up Alan Colmes to undermine him, Morris in a quiet, calm and clinical manner, dissects the Clintons for the low-life that they are. Morris is still a Democrat supporter as far as I can judge, but I doubt he would be welcome in the Party. Before the South Carolina election last Saturday, he said that the Clintons were deliberately fomenting the race issue in that State (where they had given up hope of winning) in order to garner the White Democrat vote in other States on Super Tuesday. At first I thought he was granting them a more Machiavellian talent than they deserved, but I now think he was right on the target. Morris knows what he is talking about when it comes to the Clintons. Morris, like me, thinks the Clintons will defeat Obama, though I doubt he factors in the role of the Media Class, for he is himself a Media Class maverick. With regard to the ultimate contest next November, I am not so sure now that the Media Class will prevail. A lot can happen in the next month. As I survey the snow-clad Diablo Range from my window, I keep thinking of Al Gore. I can’t think why!
